From Space Technology into Fire Suppression
History - Where we come from
In 2011, Harm Botter started at the European Space Agency (ESA-ESTEC)
Business Incubation Centre in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. A prototype of a
small innovative Cool Nitrogen Gas Generator, integrated with aspirating
smoke detection, draw a lot of attention at the National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) Conference & Expo in Chicago in 2013. In 2017, the 1st
product version was introduced to protect all kinds of small enclosures like server
racks and e-cabinets. In 2022, the 2nd product version was certified
by CNPP adhering to EN-54 standards. In 2023, the US Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) published a Rule in the Federal Register. This lists
EXXFIRE® as acceptable, subject to use conditions, in total flooding for use in
normally unoccupied spaces.
In-House R&D
At ExxFire, we have a team of qualified engineers and experts fully dedicated to further develop the Cool Gas Generator and the electrical hardware required to deploy this innovative technology in favor of a safer and greener world for all of us.

- Customized Cool Gas Generator
- Full system integration third party application
- New applications for Solid stored nitrogen or CO₂
ExxFire starts pilot production in Chemport Innovation Center
11/23/2022 - On Wednesday Deputy IJzebrand Rijzebol of the province of Groningen performed the festive opening of the Chemport Innovation Center (CIC). At the same time, the first tenant, ExxFire, was welcomed. The Chemport Innovation Center offers plenty of space for upscaling, innovation,
demonstration and continued growth of industrial activity. It is
therefore an important link in the cycle of industrial start-ups...
